Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification

1. Level-1 Primary Teacher (Class 1 to 5):

• Senior Secondary (10+2 or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed. / B.T.C.). OR
• Senior Secondary (10+2) with 50% marks and 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.). OR
• Graduation with 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.).

2. Level-2 Upper Primary Teacher (Class 6 to 8):

• Bachelor’s Degree (Graduation) and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.). OR
• Graduation with at least 50% marks and 1-year / 2-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed. / B.Ed. Special Education). OR
• Senior Secondary (10+2) with 50% marks and 4-year B.A./B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed.

JHTET 2026 Exam Pattern & Syllabus Overview

• Mode of Exam: Offline OMR Based Written Examination.
• Type of Questions: Objective Type Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).
• Total Questions & Marks: 150 Questions | 150 Marks (per paper).
• Duration: 2 Hours 30 Minutes (150 Minutes).
• Negative Marking: NO Negative Marking for wrong answers.

Level-1 Subjects (150 Marks):

Child Development & Pedagogy (CDP), Language I (Hindi/English), Regional/Tribal Language (Jharkhand Special), Mathematics, and Environmental Studies (EVS).

Level-2 Subjects (150 Marks):

Child Development & Pedagogy (CDP), Language I & Regional Language, plus Subject Choice: Math & Science Teacher OR Social Studies / Humanities Teacher.
